General Ledger Transaction Entry
The General Ledger Transaction Entry form is used to create G/L transactions to be posted directly to your Chart of Accounts. You will typically enter in transactions to make adjustments to your Chart of Accounts totals that would normally be done in any of the other accounting modules. For example you may want to transfer funds from your Petty Cash account into your Checking Account by a bank deposit. Therefore you would apply the funds from the Petty Cash account the Credit amount and deposit it into your Checking Account the Debit amount. All General Ledger Transactions must balance before they can be saved to disk. This is the heart of double entry accounting. The G/L Account used for the transaction can only be a Detail type account.
